8th District Congressman Bucshon Explains why Republicans Ran Scared on the Budget
Recently Congressman Larry Bucshon from Evansville held a town hall meeting where he was greeted with questions from concerned citizens of the district. When asked why he didn't support the bills that may cause a shutdown of the government....his reply was “ if we want to politically damage the people like me, who actually want to get this under control, we do something like shut down the government. Because the president has the bully pulpit. You know what happened to the Clinton administration, does anyone know why the government shut down? The government didn't shut down because congress didn't pass the spending bills. Okay? The government shut down because president Clinton vetoed those spending bills and it caused the government to shut down. So who got blamed for it? Everybody remember? Congress, Newt Gingrich, the elephant got blamed for it.”
Really? So the congressman and the republican party were so worried about what might be said or done by the liberals that they were afraid to act. They apparently are so busy covering their behind that they can't see the train wreck of the national debt speeding towards them. One thing I can guarantee about the far left wing of the current leftest socialist party now controlling our government is that they will make it the Republicans fault no matter what happens. Now that we know that no matter what we do it will be touted in the leftest press and on leftest news as “Those horrid conservatives” Shouldn't we be doing what we know is the right thing? Since when do we let bullies keep us from our goal? Since when it is more important to get re-elected than it is to do the job you were elected to do in the first place? What happened to give me Liberty or give me Death. Now its ...give me another chance to vote for you and I will pass the things I am not afraid will damage my reputation or cause the leftest to anger. Luckily for the 8th district they have a constitutional candidate running in the race and the option to put liberty first. Kristy Risk ran in the 8th district during the last election and lost by less than 2,000 votes with 8 people running in the race. With Bucshon 's current record of status quo Republican voting I think she has a real chance to win the race this election. We need someone with the balls to do the hard work in congress that needs to be done. Apparently we have to hire a woman to get that. This election Dubious country will join the 8th district in voting at the polls. The tea party leaders of the 8th district are meeting for a caucus on January 28th to cast their votes on who to support of the candidates in this race. I am putting all my money on Kristi Risk taking that election by storm. As far as I can see she is the only true constitutional candidate in the race.
